View of the beach of Zumaia Itzurun and cliffs that surround it in what is called the flysch, layers of alternating hard and soft rock in an upright position to favor its fall away. Within the geological continuity of these strata along several miles, this point is between the limits of the Secondary Era.
This area of the Basque coast has been included in the Global Network of Geoparks tutored by UNESCO (www.europeangeoparks.org).
